Revitalize Your Eyes, Refresh Your Look
Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure designed to rejuvenate the upper and lower eyelids. This surgery addresses excess skin, puffiness, and drooping brows, providing a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Whether performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, this procedure smooths transitions between the eyelid and cheek, reframes the eyes, and reduces signs of fatigue and aging.
Your journey starts with a comprehensive consultation to discuss your vision and aesthetic goals. Our surgeons evaluate your eyelids and surrounding facial structure to determine the most effective approach for your blepharoplasty.
Based on your individual needs, we create a customized surgical plan. Our goal is to achieve a natural, rejuvenated look that complements your overall facial features, focusing on balance and symmetry.
During the procedure, precise incisions are made to remove or reposition fat and excess skin. Our surgeons employ advanced techniques to minimize scarring and ensure a smooth recovery, prioritizing safety and comfort.
Post-surgery, it is normal for the eyelids to feel tight and sore, but pain medication can manage this. Swelling and bruising are common and usually resolve within one to two weeks. Sutures are typically removed at the one-week follow-up appointment. Most patients feel well enough to return to work and normal activities within a week.

It’s normal for the eyelids to feel tight and sore after eyelid surgery, but this can be managed with pain medication. Most patients feel well enough to return to work and other normal activities by a week after surgery
Like all surgeries, there can be complications. However, patient safety is of the utmost importance in our practice. By strictly following the surgeon’s instructions, the chances of complications greatly diminish. Possible complications include:
Upper blepharoplasty utilizes an incision in the upper eyelid crease to remove excess skin, and at times fat, to refresh the appearance of the eyelids. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty can be performed through a skin incision below the lower lid eyelashes (subciliary) or through an incision from the inside of the eyelid (transconjunctival) that is not visible. Often fat is removed or relocated to address outpouchings of fat and address any hollow depressions. Skin may or may not be removed.
Asian blepharoplasty or double-eyelid surgery is a procedure used to create a mobile upper eyelid crease. It is used to create a classically more “Caucasian” appearance. It is done through the same incision as a standard upper blepharoplasty. There are many variations of lower eyelid surgery, including incorporation of chemical peel resurfacing and fat grafting. Regardless of the technique, as the incisions hide within natural creases, they become essentially imperceptible over time.
Men and women with excess upper eyelid skin, puffiness or drooping brows are upper eyelid blepharoplasty candidates with or without a simultaneous brow lift. Individuals seeking double eyelid surgery are also candidates.
Those with hollowing, dark circles, puffiness or folds of excess skin on the lower eyelids are lower eyelid blepharoplasty candidates. Eyelid muscle tone, eyelid position relative to the pupil, and integrity of the native eyelid tendons determine the appropriate candidate. Additionally, those with a very hollowed appearance or eyes that project forward beyond their cheek may be best served with volume replacement through fat grafting techniques.
With age, as the brow descends onto the upper eyelid and the upper eyelid develops excess skin, an expression of fatigue or sadness can be perceived. Lower eyelid skin, muscle and fat changes often result to a tired appearance or bags under the eyes.
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a cosmetic surgery procedure that can rejuvenate the eyes for a more youthful and refreshed appearance. It may be performed on the upper eyelid, lower eyelids, or both. The surgery helps tighten the eyelid skin, smooth the transition between the eyelid and cheek, and reframes the eye to yield a rejuvenated appearance.
Recovery from eyelid surgery involves some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which can be managed with cold compresses and medication. Most patients feel comfortable returning to work and social activities within 7 to 10 days, although complete healing and final results may take several weeks. Strenuous activities should be avoided for at least 2 to 3 weeks. Patients are advised to follow their surgeon’s post-operative care instructions closely, including protecting the eyes from sunlight and avoiding activities that could strain the eyes, to ensure a smooth recovery and optimal results.
